Remo Stars Football Club would like to debunk and disassociate herself from the publication titled “THE CONSPIRACY AGAINST ABIA WARRIORS” by Akin Bolarinwa of an unknown media organization making the rounds on social media and other media platforms.
In the said publication, it was alleged that Remo Stars Football Club, together with some ‘cabals’, are making enquiries about the sale of Abia Warriors premier league with the view of acquiring such in the eventuality of Remo Stars relegation from the Nigerian top flight league-the NPFL.
Such allegation is false, malicious and goes against everything the clubs stands for from a moral and ethically perspective.
Remo Stars Football Club is the opinion that a club must rightfully earn its place in a league setup and doesn’t encourage the sale or purchase of club status in the league.
This act is practically alien in world footballing practices.
The said article also indicated that the cabals are in talks with the Abia State Government to buy out Abia Warriors if relegated.
Remo Stars Football Club is not bidding or in discussion with any body or party for a take over of Abia Warriors.
If the said cabals are making such a move, then they would have done everything humanly possible to ensure Remo Stars FC do not get relegated rather than making a move to take over an established and well-known organization in Abia Warriors Football Club.
Remo Stars Football Club would also want to wish Abia Warriors Football Club the very best in their encounters and footballing campaigns.
This unwarranted and intentional attack on the Remo Stars brand smirks of ignorance, falsehood and a terrible attempt at rubbishing the work of the Remo Stars owner, management and players.
It also lacks objectivity, evidence and cannot hold water in any credible society with its direction capable of bringing the league and our organisation to disrepute.
We, therefore, demand that Mr Akin Bolarinwa retracts this malicious and insensitive statement and apologise to the club in the same vein.
Remo Stars regrets the embarrassment this false statement has brought to the club, the League Management Company, the Nigeria Football Federation and the Nigerian football fraternity in general
Thank you.
