Hon. Olumide Araoyinbo |
As the Ondo State House of Assembly plans to screen the names of commissioner-designate submitted to it by the governor of the state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu tomorrow Friday, 4 August, the majority leader of the house, Hon. Olumide Araoyinbo says the hallowed chamber will treat any petition filed against any of the nominees by his or her constituents without fear or favour.
This he said has become imperative for them to do justice should the house receive any of such petition from their constituents.
“we will treat every petition no matter the person involved. They are going to represent our people, and if the people petitioned us on anyone of them, we will look into it,” Araoyinbo said.
Hon. Araoyinbo who spoke to THE PRECISION in an exclusive interview at his office in the assembly however said no petition has been received against any of the candidate to the best of his knowledge.
According to Hon. Araoyinbo, the house will before the screening considered some bills due to the fact that the house will soon go on recess.
Mr Araoyinbo who is representing Akoko North West, Constituency II, told THE PRECISION that the committee on selection which is saddled with the responsibilities of the screening the nominees has been doing a thorough job to ensure that there is a level playing ground for all of them.
“they will come up with a report which the house will adopt tomorrow,” he said.
THE PRECISION recall that the Governor of Ondo State sent 18 names to the House of Assembly on Tuesday for consideration as commissioners of the state. The names were picked to reflect the 18 local government areas of the state.
