The former deputy governor to Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose during his first term, Mr Abiodun Aluko has dumped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for a new party, Mega Party of Nigeria.
Posts from the former deputy governor’s facebook account obtained by THE PRECISION indicated that the Ikere-born Surveyor turned Politician have defected from the PDP to the new party.
THE PRECISION recalled that during the course of the week, the state governor, Ayodele Fayose adopted his deputy governor, Prof. Kolapo Olusola as the sole candidate that will fly the flag of the PDP in the 2018 Guber election in the state.
This development has been causing ripples in the state’s PDP since Mr Fayose announced his intention to fly his deputy in next year’s election.
Already, a chieftain of the party in the state, and National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Dayo Adeyeye has frowned at the decision of Governor Fayose and had since resigned his appointment as the Chairman, Governing Council of the state owned university.
Also, a senator representing the state at the National Assembly, Abiodun Olujimi has kicked against the attitude of Mr Fayose, urging the party’s national body to intervene.
The intention of Fayose’s former deputy, Abiodun Aluko to dump the party might not be unconnected with the decision of the governor to impose his deputy on members of the party even though the party’s primaries has not been conducted.
