Results of the Promotion Examinations for Junior Secondary School, JSS3 Students and Senior Secondary Schools, SS2 Students in Ondo State are ready and will soon be released.
The state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Femi Agagu, made the disclosure when he led a government monitoring team round public primary and secondary schools across three Local Government Areas on the first day of the 2017/ 2018 academic session in the state.
Agagu said the release of the results would enable the affected students commence their respective academic activities for the 2017/18 session without any further delay.
The Commissioner, who frowned at the level of dilapidation of structures in most of the schools visited, blamed the situation on the over concentration of the immediate past administration in the state on its mega school project at the expense of government schools.
While charging both teachers and students to be disciplined and be punctual, Mr Femi Agagu assured that the material needs of schools in the state and the wellbeing of teachers would be attended to within the resource capacity of the state.
He, however, said the State Government would look into illegal collections of unapproved fees reportedly being demanded in some schools in the state.
The Government Monitoring Team visited Ejioba High School and St John Primary School both in Oba-Ile, Akure North Local Government, Area; The Apostolic High School, Ilara-mokin, in Ifedore Local Government Area; St Dominic High School and St Louis Girls Grammar chool, Akure, in Akure South Local Government Area.
