Bayelsa State Commissioner for Special Projects, Mr. Fred Obua, on Tuesday slumped and was rushed out of the venue of the inter-ministerial briefing to mark the 6th Anniversary of Governor Seriake Dickson in office. The sixth anniversary activities will climax on February 14.

Obua, who was to make a presentation, suddenly slumped and was immediately rushed out of the venue at Cultural Centre, Yenagoa, and later taken to an undisclosed private clinic.
The Master of Ceremony (MC), Mrs Tari Oweifawari, had earlier announced that Mr. Obua would also be making a presentation at the event, but later informed the audience that the commissioner was “indisposed”.
Reacting to the development, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Daniel Iworiso-Markson told journalists that Obua could not wait due to his health challenge.
“What do you want me to say? The man was rushed out because he has health challenge; he cannot wait for the presentation,” the Commissioner said.
Out of the two ministries scheduled to make presentations on Tuesday, only the Commissioner for Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Frank Ibegi, was able to make it.
Ibegi, in his presentation, said that the present administration had performed massively in terms of rural-urban development.
He said that the sitting of health centres in the rural communities was a milestone in the history of the state and noted that the focus for 2018 was to ensure adequate peace and infrastructural development in the communities. (News Express)
