An aspirant in the 2019 House of Representatives election in Akoko NorthEast/NorthWest federal constituency of Ondo state under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Commander Tunde Giwa-Daramola (rtd) has declared his interest to occupy the green chamber in Abuja.
He made this declaration during a familiarization meeting which offered him the opportunity to present his programmes to the ward chairmen .
Commander Giwa-Daramola who hails from Ikaramu-Akoko,is a successful businessman and a chieftain of the APC in the state .
While addressing the party leaders,Giwa -Daramola congratulated them for the one year celebration of the APC government in Ondo state and tasked them to work assiduously for the success of the APC during next year’s election irrespective of their personal interest.
His words:’’I wish to appreciate your efforts during the last governorship elections which produced the APC government in Ondo State.We are committed to winning next year’s election and we should all mobilize support for the party irrespective of our political interest and there is need for us to shun any form of sentiments because we need to win at all levels in next year’s election.’’
He harped on the need for party leaders to embrace peace and provide room for a level playing ground for all aspirants and urged them to put into consideration the interest of Akoko during the primaries.
Giwa-Daramola also used the occasion to call on the leaders to support his ambition of changing the federal constituency from where it is, to where it is supposed to be . He promised to influence projects that will change the lives of the people and use his contact as a retired military officer and services at various federal ministries and parastatals to attract development to the federal constituency.
While responding, the leaders across the wards in Akoko North West local government area of the state thanked the aspirant for recognizing them and encourage him in his efforts at promoting the party and classified him as one of the best among those who have indicated interest in the governorship race.
They also promised to be fair to all the aspirants irrespective of their political status and urged them to work assiduously for the APC tickect, saying the party’s primaries will produce the candidate of the party.
