Governor of Ondo state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN has signed the N181 billion Appropriation Bill passed by the State House of Assembly into law.
The Governor also signed the Health Insurance Scheme Bill and The Social Protection Bill into law simultaneously on Tuesday 6th February, 2018 at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office Alagbaka, Akure.
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right Honourable David Oloyelogun while presenting the bills for Mr Governor’s assent extolled the doggedness and determination of the Governor in pursuance efficient and good governance for the people.
Governor Akeredolu regretted the high percent of recurrent expenditure which is put at 43% saying he would take a bold step to address it.
“We’re determined to block loopholes in our board of internal revenue by having a new – totally new board.
“We will continue to educate our people on the significance of paying tax. We plan to expand our tax base “, he said.
