Staff of the Ondo state Information Technology Agency (SITA) have been challenged to redouble their efforts with a view to actualizing the new missions and visions of the Agency.
Addressing the staff after the prayer meeting to usher in the month of February, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on ICT and the Coordinator of the Agency, Mr. Olumbe Akinkugbe listed the new missions to include empowerment of the present and future generations through skills in ICT.
Represented by the new Administrative Secretary of the Agency Mrs B.M Omotola, the SSA said the immediate and long term goals of govt is to bail out residents of the state from the shackles of poverty through ICT.

According to him, this is what informed the massive training of the state workforce in ICT for efficient service delivery adding that, plans have been concluded to democratize the process of accessing information from the Internet with the creation of two additional TECHHUB in the Northern and Southern senatorial districts of the state to complement the existing one in Akure.
SITA as he put it “is to establish Computer Based Test Preparatory Centre across the state to prepare students for WAEC, NECO and JAMB examinations with a view to preventing the reoccurrence of mass failure in public examinations”.
This is in addition to to the proposed e-health, e- learning, e-judiciary, e-revenue generation among others.
While assuring the staff of regular training to keep them in top form, Akinkugbe charged them to see the on going rebranding of SITA as an opportunity to add value to human lives .
Speaking earlier, Director, Engineering and IT infrastructure Mr. Innocent Omosowone said Agency can only achieve its set goal through team spirit, unity of purpose and dedication to duty by the staff .
