Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Yemi
Olowolabi has described the advent of Electronic and New Media as an
important means of disseminating Information in this new age, saying the
world is a global village where events could be reported fast and
reached larger audience.

said “The Ondo State Government has a well equipped Information
Technology Centre,which was established to guarantee efficient and
service delivery in the governance and administrative system in the
state” he said.

Mr. Olowolabi added that the State
Integrated Financial Information System (SIFMIS), introduced into the
administrative system in the state was aimed at ensuring transparency
and accountability and to boost e-Governance in the state,noting that
the Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s administration has gone digital by
the advent of SIFMIS into the governance of the state.

Commissioner for Information and Orientation said the Ministry has a
Department saddled with the responsibility of propagating the activities
of government through the Social Media Super Highway Channels, adding
that the creation of the Department of Electronic and New Media in the
Ministry was to make information dissemination faster and to showcase
the achievements of the government to the outside world. He stated that
the power of Social Media can not be over emphasized in this present day
modernisation.
