Thrilled by his achievements in the education sector, the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), will on the 6th of March, 2018, conferred on Professor Isiaka Adekunle Amoo the most outstanding professional award of the ancient city of Ibadan.
The Precision reports that the event which is part of the 2018 Ibadan Cultural Festival Ceremony will take place at Ibadan House, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan by 9am.
According to the statement signed by the chairman, planning committee, Asiwaju Nurudeen Akinade and the President of CCII, Chief Adeyemi Soladoye, Prof. Amoo, a professor of analytical chemistry at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), was picked for the award for his continued support to Ibadanland and his performances in the academic front.

“Having watched the events around your person as an indigene of Ibadan over the years and in particular, your landmark achievement as a professor of many years standing, and your continued support for Ibadanland, we hereby thank you immensely for these and at the same time convey the decision of the Governing Council of Ibadan Indigenes to confer the Award of Most Outstanding Professional (Academics) of Ibadanland (MOPI) 2017 on your person… ,” the statement read.
CCII was founded in 1985 and is the umbrella body of the various associations, clubs, and societies of Ibadan indigenes all over the world. It recognises Ibadan indigenes, residents, and eminent Nigerians that have contributed to the progress of the ancient city.
