The wife of the Ondo State Governor and the founder of the Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN), Chief Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu was on Wednesday honoured with Inspiring Icon Health and Wellness Tourism Award at the 3rd International Hospitality, Tourism and Eco-Sustainability Forum which took place at Villa Garden, Owerri, Imo State.
In her response, Mrs. Akeredolu thanked the organizers of the event for deeming it fit to honour her as issues that bother on health and wellness is very dear to her heart.
Leading the panel discussion on Hushed Voices, Sex, Health and Wellness Tourism, Mrs. Akeredolu called for collaboration between hospitality industry and the Ministry of Tourism, while also stressing that the ministry has a vital role to play when it comes to regulation.
Also pesent at the event was the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha ably represented by Commissioner for Tourism, Imo State, Hon. Dr. Cyril Okafor and His Majesty King Alfred DIETE-SPIFF OFR,JP DF ( Seriyai II) Amanyanbo of Twon Brass Kingdom, Commissioner for Tourism, Ondo State, Hon. Ismalia Olurimisi among others.
The event also featured strategic session on security led by Prof. Charles Dokunbo, SA to President on Niger Delta and Presidential Amnesty Programme and presentation on Building Hotel Excellence.
The highlight of the event was the display by Ondo State Cultural Troupe to honour the wife of Ondo State Governor.
