MMPN Holds Convention In Abuja Today | The Precision

The 2nd National Convention of the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN) in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital is billed for today Saturday 28th April, 2018 at the main hall, National mosque.

 

In a statement signed by the National President of the Body, Alhaji AbdurRahman Balogun, he said the theme of the Convention, “2019: Our Role” was carefully chosen in view of the developments that will herald 2019.
According to him, the MMPN intends to sensitise its members and members of the public on important issues and areas that are beneficial to their needs and the society’s at large, most especially as we approach 2019.
“We also believe the convention will create a good learning experience and networking platform for the attendees”, he added.
The Convention Formal Opening Ceremony will be chaired by the Hon. Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola.
The Keynote Address will be delivered by Professor of Language Arts and Communication, Department of English and Chief Imam, University of Abuja, Professor Taofiq Adesina AbdulAzeez.
Reports also confirm that the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), who has been designated as the Spiritual Father of the Day, will be conferred with the title of Grand Patron of MMPN.
Expected guests at the opening ceremony include Governors, Ministers, Director Generals of Agencies and National Assembly members.
Over 250 participants from different media and business interests across the 36 states of Nigeria are expected to grace the Convention.
Established over 25 years ago with the purpose of educating, enlightening and addressing the masses on societal problems, MMPN is committed to all-round human development based on Islamic values.
