The 2nd national convention of the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN) will hold in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital between Friday 27th and Sunday 29th April, 2018.
In a statement signed by President of MMPN, Abdur-Rahman Balogun and made available to The Precision, the formal opening of the convention is slated for Saturday 28th April at the National Mosque Conference Hall, Abuja by 10am.

“The theme of the convention is “2019: Our Role”. The theme has been carefully chosen in view of the developments that will herald 2019,” Balogun said.
According to Balogun, the Convention formal opening will be chaired by the Hon. Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, While the keynote address will be delivered by a Professor of Language Arts and Communication, Department of English, and the Imam of University of Abuja, Professor Taofiq Adesina AbdulAzeez.
“During the convention, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) who is also the spiritual father of the day will be conferred with the title of Grand Patron of MMPN.
“Over 250 participants from different media industries and business interests across the 36 states of Nigeria are expected to grace the convention.

“MMPN hope to use the convention to sensitise its members and members of the public on important issues and areas that are beneficial to their needs and the society at large, most especially as we approach 2019. We also believe the convention will create a good learning experience and networking platform for the attendees,” he said.
Established over 25 years ago with the purpose to educate, enlighten and address societal problems, MMPN is committed to all-round human development based on Islamic values.
