Troops Kill 21 Bandits In Zamfara | The Precision

The Nigerian Army says its troops have killed 21 bandits
in the ongoing operations against cattle rustlers and other criminals
in Anka local government area of Zamfara State.

 

Director, Army Public Relations Brig. – Gen. Texas Chukwu, who
disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, added that many bandits
escaped with gunshot wounds during the battle with the soldiers.
Chukwu however said an army officer and a soldier lost their lives in the fierce battle with the bandits.
He also revealed that the troops recovered five AK 47 rifles, a light
machine gun, magazines and 35 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunitions at
the end of the encounter.
Chukwu said in the statement, “Troops of 232 Battalion Zuru, on
clearance patrols on Wednesday, April 4, neutralized 21 armed bandits in
encounter at Tunga Daji in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
“During the fierce battle many bandits escaped with gunshot wounds to
the top of high ground close to the area. “Unfortunately, we lost an
officer and a soldier during the encounter.

“The remains of the gallant troops have been evacuated to the Federal Medical Centre, Gusau.”
The Army spokesperson also revealed that troops deployed raided a
camp at Laka village in Kebbi State, where they killed one bandit and
recovered an AK 47 rifle with a magazine.
