The Ondo State Government has commiserated with a popular Motor Spare
Parts Dealer in Owo, Alhaji Saliu Lawal also known as Shanu-Olu Motor
Parts whose shop was gutted by fire.

In his message at the scene of the incident in Owo, the Ondo State
Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, sympathised with the shop
owner and described the incident as a great loss owing to the
significant role that he has been playing in the economy of the ancient
town and the state at large.

 

While lamenting the collosal loss, Governor Akeredolu described
Shanu-Olu Motors as a  dependable ally to motorists in the town and
prayed that God will console him.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Chief Olugbenga Ale, Governor
Akeredolu enjoined the police and the fire service to do a thorough
investigation to ascertain the cause of the inferno and informed the
fire victim that the government will communicate its assistance to him
very shortly.

He however commended the people of Owo for their efforts at putting
out the inferno and  enjoined them to always ensure that  their
electrical appliances were always put off to avoid a reoccurrence.

Addressing Journalists on behalf of the family, the son of the shop
owner, Mr Akeem Lawal appealed to the State Gvernment to come to the
assistance of the family.

Items burnt to ashes in the shops and stores in various brands of motor
spare parts, Batteries, Engine oil of all kinds, kitchen utensils, Gas
Cookers, Electronic Knitting machines, Generating sets, Bicycles, Sewing
machines among others.


The Government Team led by thee Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief
Olugbenga Ale include: Chairman, Local Government Service Commission,
Hon. Femi Idris and the Permanent Secretary, Government House and
Protocol, Mr Dare Aragbaye while the Caretaker Chairman of Owo Local
Government, Mr Gani Omoluka was on hand to  welcome the team.
