The abduction of the secretary of the Ondo State branch of the National Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Comrade Kayode Agbeyangi has been confirmed by the union.

The chairman of the union, Jacob Adebo also known as “Idajo” confirmed this to The Precision via a phone call on Saturday night.

“Yes I can confirm to you that our secretary was kidnapped… The incident has been reported to the Osun state police command since it happened within the state,” he said.
Asked if the kidnappers have demanded for ransom, Adebo said he can’t say for now as they are expecting update on the incident on Sunday.

The Precision had reported that the union scribe was kidnapped in the early hours of Saturday while travelling to Lagos to meet his family.

All effort to reach the police public relations officer in Osun state for an update proved abortive while his counterpart in Ondo, Femi Joseph declined comment saying it is outside their jurisdiction.

More to come…
