Badrud-din Youth Forum, a non-governmental organisation, on Monday in Ibadan, donated gifts and food items to some orphanages as part of activities to mark the end of Ramadan.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the group visited Hearth and Soul Children with Special Needs, FOMWAN Orphanage and Cheshire Home.
The leader of the group, Muhameed Abdulazeez, in an interview with newsmen after the presentations, said that the donations were meant to demonstrate their gratitude to God for witnessing this year’s Ramadan.
Abdulazeez said that the group’s donation was in obedience to the injunction of Prophet Mohammed that faithful should demonstrate charity by their giving during the month of Ramadan.

“We solicited for the little we can afford to support the orphanages to make them fill a sense of belonging and help make the society a better place.
“We have seen that there is ability in disability, we have been challenged by these children with special needs in terms of what they have done in creativity in spite their disability.
“It has challenged those of us who have no disability to be better persons and citizens in order to use our creativity to make our country and society a better place to live.
“We are opportune to be part of the youth in this generation, we should let people know that something good is coming out of this country,” he said
Receiving the gifts at the Cheshire home, the coordinator, Mrs Remi Adetoba, thanked the group for their kind gesture and urged them not to relent in giving back to the society.
Items donated included rice, biscuits, indomie noodles, juice and toiletries. (NAN)
