Contrary to an on-line media report claiming that Ondo FA Chairman Otunba Dele Ajayi received $3,000 from NFF Chairman Amaju Pinnick while in Russia for the just concluded World Cup.
The Ondo FA boss has debunked ever granting any interview to an online media known as pmexpress.com saying he is not aware of granting such interviews.
“It was one of my friends that called my attention to the said report and I was really embarrassed to see my picture and the report which kept me wondering when I granted such interview because apart from very known media platforms across the country and most especially the ones in my state I don’t just grant interviews”.
The report was further said to have stated that President of the NFF allegedly short-changed some people during the recently held Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Otunba Sunday Dele Ajayi, one of the members of the board of NFF under Amaju Pinnick, and also a board member under the Chris Giwa faction was said to have fingered that Pinnick gave him a paltry sum of $3,000 as estacode at the Mundial.
Otunba Ajayi, who is the chairman of Audit Committee of the NFF under the leadership of Pinnick said even if he had grudges with anyone it would not be solved through the pages of newspapers rather there are other ways he can make whatever grievances known because everybody at the NFF are all matured people.
The football administrator insisted that the purported interview and reactions by some people are mere cheap blackmail and he is not ready to join issues with anybody hence what he wants is peace and restoration of order in the NFF so that football can grow in the land.
The Ondo FA chairman went further by saying he is a lover of peace and irrespective of whatever is happening in the Nigerian Football circle presently the peaceful coexistence of the football family is what matters to him.
“All i ever wanted was for the football family to be united which is what I will keep working towards and I hope that the crisis ends peacefully and every stakeholder will be happy to move our football forward”
Otunba Ajayi is playing a key role in Giwa’s board including been selected as the leader of delegation to Mauritania when the Flying Eagles were forced to 1-1 draw by Mauritanian counterparts and he was also very active during the return-leg in Lagos where the Flying Eagles thrashed Mauritania 5-0 to qualify 6-1 on aggregate to the 2019 Africa Youth Championship to be held in Niger Republic.
