Manchester United’s new home kit may be making headlines for its excessive cost, but their away strip looks set to cause an even bigger stir, albeit for very different reasons.

Several pictures have emerged of a previously unseen Manchester United kit on sale in a Taiwanese adidas shop. They appear to confirm what has been rumoured for many weeks, that the away strip will be pink next season.
It is a bold move for both adidas and the club, who are reputedly paying tribute to the now-extinct Football Pink section of the Manchester Evening News, which was printed on light-pink paper similar to that of the Financial Times.
The shirt looks far paler than earlier leaks had suggested with a dark shade included for the trademark three stripes on the shoulders.
The salmon shade is comparable to that of Palermo’s home shirt, a firm favourite among European football hipsters.

Initial reaction to the bold colour choice appears to have gone down well with several fans declaring their intention to buy it despite it likely to cost the same as the home kit, a staggering £109.95.
Then again, other users have suggested that the new home kit looks like someone has accidentally put their old white away kit in a colour wash.
United released their 2018-19 home strip on Tuesday, which features a nod to the club’s railwaymen founders of 140 years ago in the shape of black train line.
Fans can choose between a replica of the kit or an authentic version identical to the one that players will wear during matches.

To own the full authentic kit, including a name and number, shorts and socks, will cost the most dedicated supporters a staggering £192.85.
That makes the Manchester United kit the most expensive in the Premier League, but average prices are set to rocket past the £100 mark this season as clubs cash in on fan loyalty by jacking up merchandise prices once again.
The pink shirt is expected to be released ahead of the new season, which kicks off on August 12. (DailyMail)
