The Ondo State Government on Tuesday approved all recommendations of the visitation panels constituted last year by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, to all the four tertiary institutions in the state.

The visitation panel was constituted in November 2017, the report of the panel was submitted to the governor in January, 2018.
At a press briefing shortly after the weekly state executive council, the Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Mr Donald Ojogo, his counterpart in the ministry of Justice and Attorney general, Mr. Kola Olawoye and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Mrs. Olawumi Ilawoye told journalists that the council approved the recommendations as part of the moves of the Akeredolu led administration to reposition the four institutions in the state for optimal performance.

Ilawole said the council looked at the recommendations of the panel on compliance of the institutions, financial management and staff development program.
She said “A committee was set up to review the recommendations contained in the panel report. Some of the areas that the visitation panel looked at and which white paper has been drafted and approved today bothered on the state of compliance of the Universities and Polytechnic with the approved status and programs and the laws that backed them up.
“This is to ensure that they properly position and they deliver quality education to the citizens of Ondo State. Also, we try to look at the financial management of the Universities. We looked at Subventions , and how adequate are the subventions and what the government is doing in order to improve on the income and revenue of these Universities.
“We also looked at the adequacy of staff. We looked at staff development program and a lot of all these recommendations will soon be out to use . It will be sent to the governing council of these state owned institutions for implementation and in no short time, we are very sure , according to the vision of this administration, our four state institutions will be re-positioned for optimal performance.”

The Commissioner for Justice and attorney general, Kola Olawoye also announced the establishment of the Ondo State Multi door court house which he said will fast track easy dispensation of justice and minimize delays in justice system in the state.
He said “The council has met and deliberated, and graciously approved the establishment of Ondo State Multi Door Court House which bill will be processed and presented to the Ondo State house of Assembly for deliberation and enactment into law thereafter.
“The purpose of this bill is multilateral .Hitherto we have been having one way room to the dispensation and adjudication of cases that have arisen from either contractual relationship, land matters, matrimonial cases , disputes and international and all other agreements that a party must have entered into.

“We found out that it is now out- model in many other democratic climes. people go to court when they have disputes but we are bringing in various way of resolving these issues among parties and one of them is by this multi door court house proceedings whereby, we now exercise more energy on alternative dispute resolution.
Mr. Ojogo announced the council’s approval of the appointment of Prince Babajide Lawrence Oluwole as the new Olu-Oke of Oke Igbo kingdom in Ile Oluji / Okeigbo local government area of the state.
“The council deliberated upon the processes that led to the selection of new Olu Oke of Oke Igbo, Ile oluji / Oke Igbo local government. Having confirmed that the processes were not just democratic but that they are conformed with the due process and established laws and regulation governing chieftaincy matters in the state, council graciously approved the recommendations of the king makers to the new Olu Oke of Oke Igbo. “
