Iyin Wards A and B was agog with cream de la creme of the Society on Thursday as an illustrious son of Iyin Ekiti, Engineer Olalekan Yunus Junaid declared his intention to represent his people in IREPODUN /IFELODUN constituency 1, under the banner of all progressive congress APC. This constituency comprises of Iyin and Igede towns.
Alhaji (Engineer) Junaid Olalekan Yunus (JOY) has carved a niche for himself in education, leadership and social engineering hence, he is the most qualified among the contestants in that constituency.
The mood of his people yesterday did not betray the fact that he is being loved and welcome. His coming on stage was a comic relief for his quarters, OKELAWE people who have been yearning for political relevance in Iyin town claiming that the political space have been seriously dominated by other quarters most especially, OKETORO quarters where the former governor of Ekiti state, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo comes from and some other prominent political figures too numerous to mention.
In the same vein, the Muslim community were also happy saying that this is a first opportunity for a Muslim to represent the constituency. The chief Imam of the town, Alhaji Shaykh Hussain Sanusi expressed his joy for this happening saying that Alhaji Junaid Yunus Olalekan is not only an illustrious son, he is a cleric of distinction, well educated and embodiment of good character. He therefore call on the people to give him maximum support.
