The Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District, Prof Ajayi Boroffice has berated the Ondo State executive committee members and other stakeholders’ who attended a meeting of the All Progressives Congress, APC held in Akure today to adopt indirect primaries, stating he was not invited.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Kayode Fakuyi, Boroffice who has been in a running battle with the leadership of the party in the state said the decision to adopt indirect primaries for elective positions in the party in the state “is not the true reflection and correct representation of the position of Ondo APC.”
“The only decision that can be said to be the position of the party is the decision that emanated from wide consultations and engagements with party stakeholders and aspirants, like the National leadership of APC directed”.
“Whatever decision they (Ondo APC, Governor Akeredolu and other chieftains in attendance) take is not effective. At best, it is a proposal. It is subject to approval or rejection by the National Working Committee (NWC) of APC.
“As at Today, the APC has adopted direct primaries for all elections in Ondo State. If primary election is conducted in Ondo State Today, it will be by direct primary,” the statement also read.
The state executive committee of the party earlier today adopted indirect primary method as it’s preferred method in electing candidates for elective positions in the 2019 election.
