Maurice James scored a controversial spot kick in the last minutes of the game to give the host all three points against Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) in a rescheduled Match Day Fourteen fixtures at the Ughelli Township Stadium, Ughelli, Delta State.
The match was scheduled to take place on Sunday, 3rd of October, 2018 at the same stadium but was moved to the early hours of today due to a political primary election held at the venue.

The visitors had two immediate chances to give the visitors the lead, Ogwuche Mathias latched into a wonderful pass from Shuji Oshobe, he took at once but the goalkeeper denied and yet again saved Michael Bolaji’s long range shot.
Another opportunity went through Ogwuche Mathias’ way after Adebogun Omotayo set him on but he was too anxious, he tried his luck and it went wide.
Just immediately Ogwuche Mathias connected well with Kingsley Akemini, he trapped the ball on the edge of the opponent’s final third, he tried to take a shot towards goal after a hard contact from his marker but the referee waved it.
In the opening minutes of the second half, Adebogun Omotayo and Shuji Oshobe connected well to locate Bello Timothy, he dribbled his marker into the box to take a shot but his attempt went wide.

The host should have gone ahead after a free kick was sent into the visitors box but Uro Iboh nod over the bar.
The referee, Igboko George awarded the host a controversial penalty kick after Oknuoghae Osas cleared the ball for a corner kick but he insisted that the visitors’ defender fouled Maurice James inside the box, Maurice James stood to take the kick but he ballooned the ball into the air.
In the closing minutes of full time, Bello Timothy continued to push forward to locate Sunday Williams, he launched attack towards Solomon John but slipped off and goalkeeper, Eloho Obonodo gathered.
The referee, Igboko George added six (6) minutes additional time and the play stretched on for nine more minutes as he pointed to the spot yet again to grant the host the second penalty of the game after Promise Okechukwu falls to the ground trying to turn and create space to shoot, Maurice James stepped up to take the kick and he scored to give the host the lead.
With the defeat at Ughelli, the Sky Blue Stars remain on top of the Group B2 table with twenty four points leading Delta Force on goal difference and Delta Stars remain seventh on the log with twenty points.
