Comrade Olusegun Akinsehinde also known as Dr Package has stressed the fact that his coming into politics is not for personal gains but a means of achieving his quest to better the lot of the masses by making available to them the dividends of governance.

He made this known during an interview granted on an OSRC program on Monday.
Akinsehinde, a youth development advocate, former student’s leader during his days at the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA) and a culture activist, while fielding questions during the program disabused the thinking that recent youth’s agitation for inclusion in political scheme is with selfish motives, just like some politicians. He posited that there are many youths, like himself, who are vying for political posts purely with service at the centre of their intention. Like him, they have been giving to the society even when they did not have much; and they will like to continually give back to the society.
Com Akinsehinde, who is aspiring for the Akure South Constituency 1 seat in the Ondo State House of Assembly come 2019 under the platform of Alliance of Social Democrats (ASD) noted that youth’s tendency to give money primacy over what an aspirant wants to do in office is injurious to the society. While berating this attitude, Dr Package enjoins youths not to sell out their futures by tasking politicians during electioneering campaigns.
He enjoined youths to remain steadfast, focussed and persistent in their struggles for youth inclusion in the scheme of things in the political space of the country.
When asked about the viability if the party sponsoring his ambition, Akinsehinde argued that his party Alliance of Social Democrats (ASD) is fully equipped and determined to win in any election it filled candidates for.
According to him, besides the fact that that ASD has political ideologies that is masses oriented, the Party has strong structures in all wards across the length and breadth of the country. He added that the party grows stronger each passing day, with faithful, loyal and committed members who are fanatic about changing the narratives been added to the Party almost on daily basis.
On the issue of the financial implications of contesting a political post in Nigeria, Com Akinsehinde said he remains undeterred, despite the fact that he doesn’t have deep purse to challenge contenders in the said big parties. In his words, he believes the course of salvaging the sinking ship of Nigeria is not meant for lilly-livered people who cannot weather the storm. Giving him encouragement is his network of friends and elder statesmen who had play mentorial roles over him.
He added that he strongly believes in God who is the lifter up of heads and the provider of all that is needed by all humans to achieve every good and godly intentions.
On the readiness of youths to take over from the old order, Comrade Akinsehinde expressed his disappointment with the way some youths are pitching their tents with the same old people they should have taken over from. He noted this a pointer to the fact that many a youths are not yet ready for the desired change.
However, while not blaming anyone for their convictions, he urged youths to remain steadfast and committed to their quest of emplacing sanity within the system.
In conclusion, Segun Akinsehinde enjoined youths not to remains as social media political activist but to, like him, be active in politics. He advised that youths should join political parties and put themselves forward for political positions. By doing this, com Akinsehinde believes youths shall soon take over from the present leaders.
