The Deji and Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, (Odundun II) on Thursday laid the foundation of the School of Health and Health Technology of the Federal University of Technology Akure.
The site which is expected to accommodate FUTA’s Medical School and the Teaching Hospital is located in Ilu-Abo, Akure.
Oba Aladetoyinbo declared the project as a dream come true for Akure Kingdom and the good people of Ondo State.
We had consistently clamoured for a Teaching Hospital in the last eight years being the only state capital without a Federal Teaching Hospital, Oba Aladetoyinbo said.

I am happy to be here at the ground breaking ceremony of this event, I am happy and am sure that Akure people are so delighted about this.
The Acting Chairman of the Governing Council of FUTA, Hon. Idris Yakubu thanked the Monarch for his unrelenting efforts towards the actualization of the Project.
“The Deji and the Akure Community did everything possible to get us the certificate of Occupancy and in fact, made the acquisition of the land possible for us.
In his own remark, the Vice-Chancellor of FUTA Professor Adeola Fuwape who led the management team to the event expressed his deep appreciation to the Deji and the Akure-FUTA partnership committee for their resilience and commitment towards the project.
Present at the venue of the event were the council members and management of FUTA, the Deji in council, members of Akure-FUTA partnership Committee, the Olu of Ilu-Abo, Chief Olu Falae, Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy, Engr. Tunji Light Ariyomo, Chief Imam of Akure Kingdom, Alhaji Abdulhakeem Yayi Akorede and a host of other dignitaries.
