The monthly meeting of the Oyemekun Grammar School Old Students’ Association, Ondo State chapter comes up on Thursday 31st October, 2019.
The meeting which holds on the last Thursday of every month will be hosted by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Ondo State, Ifedayo Abegunde popularly called ABENA.
The Precision NG reports that the meeting which will usher in new executives to man the affairs of ‘the only school’, will hold at the newly renovated school hall behind the principal’s office at 4.30pm.
A statement by the Chairman of the association in the state, Reverend Ayo Ikulamberu urged the old students to grace the meeting in view of the election to be conducted on the day.
“I want to enjoin every old student to attend the meeting, knowing fully well that the host is one of the key figures in the cabinet of the state. Our presence will be highly appreciated.

“I also want to use this medium to appeal to interested aspirants in any of the executive position to grace the meeting as election will be conducted to fill in the vacant positions that day.
“Also of note is the fact that our prolific and hardworking principal, Chief Stephen Ojo is retiring on the 5th of December, 2019 and it coincide with his 60th birthday. We are inviting everyone to be present to give him a toast.
“It will interest you to note that the Old Students’ body have conferred on him a fellow of the OGSA Old Students’ Association meaning he is a member of the association even though he did not attend the OGSA.
“This we have done to appreciate Chief Ojo for his numerous contributions to the development of the school since he assumed office.
“I want to say clearly that his tenure in the school has ushered in a lot of development, hence, we need to induct him into the school’s hall of fame.
Mr Ikulamberu also used the occasion to invite the old students to the wedding of his son, Ayotunde who will be tying the knot with Miss Temitope Oni in Lagos on Saturday, 26th October, 2019.
Meanwhile, the National Executive Council (NEC) of the OGSA has congratulated the new Head of Service of Ekiti state, Mr Ayodeji Ajayi who is also an old student of the school.
While on a visit to the Head of Service in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital, the NEC gave an award to Mr Ajayi, while urging him to be part of the developmental drive in his Alma Mater – OGSA.
Oyemekun Grammar School Akure popularly called ‘The Only School’ was founded in 1953 and has produced well to do Nigerians who have contributed to the growth of the nation at home and abroad.
