Ondo LG Polls: APC Gets Candidate For Ese-Odo

The Caretaker Chairman of Ese-Odo Local Government area of Ondo State, Hon. Ojo Omolewa on Thursday emerged as the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the coming state local government election.

The election which was held at the Igbekebo town hall in the headquarter of the Local Government had Omolewa polling 199 votes to defeat Mr Messiah Allen who came distant second with seven votes while Omolere Ojigi and Richard Omosehin both coming third with five votes respectively.

Announcing the results, the Chairman of APC in Ese-Odo Local Government area, Mr Samuel Ajayi thanked all the aspirants for being peaceful.

Ajayi advised those that lost the election to work with the winner to ensure the party emerged victorious in the coming local government election to be conducted by Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC).

Also, Richard Kekemeke, a party leader in Arogbo ward of the local government said he was particularly happy that the election was conducted in an orderly manner, urging the winner to be magnanimous in victory.

Reacting to his declaration as winner, Hon. Ojo Iwalewa praised the conduct of his party delegates and promised not to betray the trust reposed in him.

Omolewa said the party chairman in Ese-Odo was directed by the state Secretariat to conduct the election with the agreement of other aspirants, which he said they all did.

“I appreciate the good people of Ese Odo, with the confidence reposed in me, I will not disappoint them, because it’s like they putting their future in my hands, I will make sure I add value to the lives in this community,” he said.

The representative of the State Independent Electoral Commission, (ODIEC,) for Ese-Odo Mrs. Feyintola Ogunsipe, praised the security agents, particularly the delegates for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner.

It would be recalled that ODIEC had set April 18 for the conduct of elections into the 18 local governments.
