Results of pioneer Nursing students of Achievers University Owo, (AUO) who took part in the March, 2020 Midwifery examination are now out.
Announcing this development to the University community via its official WhatsApp page, the Pro-Chancellor, Hon. Dr Bode Ayorinde, said of the 29 students who sat for the examination, 27 of them passed the examination, thereby achieving a 93 percent score rate.
The examination conducted by the Nursing and Midwifery Council earlier in March, saw two students failing it.
“I received the good news this evening and I want to share my joy with the University Community. On behalf of Council and Management we appreciate all the Staff of Nursing Science Department for this spectacular performance in our first professional exam. I also congratulate the Students, their parents and the University Community for this great success. We give God all the glory,” Ayorinde said.

On her part, the head of department of Nursing, Mrs Jokotade Jemilat Olarerin noted that Nursing and Midwifery Council Examination is one of the standard guidelines for nursing-midwifery education and practice in Nigeria.
“It is made to ensure that only qualified (i.e. those that passed through the specified standard training for a specified period of time, sat for and passed the final qualifying council examination) students are registered and licensed by nursing and midwifery council of Nigeria to practice in Nigeria and any part of the world.
“Students are expected to pass the final qualifying council examination in order to be “LICENSED” to practice as professionals .
“They are the first set of nursing students in Achievers University Owo, who were admitted in the 2015/2016 academic session through the University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)”, she said.
