Covid-19: Rotary Club Of Ondo Adeyemi College Gives Palliatives To Workers

In the quest to readily identify with some notable and essential workers in the College in this period of lockdown, the Rotary Club, Ondo Adeyemi College has again fulfilled one of her statutory humanitarian duties as 200 workers were appreciated and given food palliatives on May 1, Workers Day.

The workers were drawn from the College cleaners, Security men and groundsmen who were well coordinated by the chairman, College Environmental and Sanitation Committee, Dr. Rasheed Oloyede while the distribution team was ably led by Rotarian Olufisayo Fakorede who also is the College Registrar.

Addressing the workers, the incumbent club President, Rotarian Oluseto Olatuyi who is also the Deputy Director, Directorate of Information & Public Relations of the College appreciated the workers who have been discharging their essential duties before and during the lockdown.

She affirmed rotary commitment to humanity and promised that the second phase of the palliatives distribution will soon be implemented. She wholeheartedly appreciated all members and donors who made the distribution very possible among whom are the Provost of the College, Rotarian Dr. Samuel Akintunde; the college Bursar, Rotn. Ganiyu Abdul; the College Librarian, Mr. Azino Akpokuriere, Past Presidents of the Club, Justina Ogboru, Dr. Mopelola Akintoye and Tunde Ojeyinka, Dr. Abiodun Olarewaju (President Elect), Dr. Kehinde Adenegan (Immediate Past President) and Elizabeth Okoroafor.

Others include, Rotarians Yejide Akinkuotu, Barr. Bashiru Yusuf, Joseph Obamoyegun (Secretary Elect), Prof. Olukoya Ogen, Abiola Olaitan, Sanmi Gbokan, Tope Adenagbe, Olusiji Adeoye, Robert Akinkuoye (Asst. Gov), many of whom were present at the distribution.

Olatuyi, the club president earnestly prayed for all the workers who received the palliatives that with God, good time is ahead of all of us as the dreaded pandemic will later become things of the past.
She emphasised cleanliness and urged everyone present to be prayerful and obey the government rules to fight the pandemic.

In response, Dr. Oloyede and one of the supervisors appreciated the gesture of Rotary who have readily identified with the workers given the palliatives and wished Rotary club of Ondo-Adeyemi College a remarkable existence on campus.
