Covid-19: Ijare Gets Ad-hoc Committee On Palliative Distribution To The Vulnerable

An ad-hoc committee to pull all resources together in order to cushion the effect of coronavirus, covid-19, has been set up by community leaders in Ijare town in Ifedore local government area of Ondo state.

The secretary of the committee, Mr Fisayo Falodi in a statement obtained by The Precision NG in Akure, the Ondo state capital, said the committee was set up as part of efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus and the adverse effect of the lockdown on the vulnerable in the community and its adjoining towns.

“Arising from this, an ad-hoc non-partisan Committee was initiated by Engr (Chief) Ropo Alabi to essentially sensitise Ijare residents about the pandemic and to equally make available palliatives to them, especially, the vulnerable.

“The committee sincerely calls for support to enable it to effectively distribute the available and the expected palliatives for which all the houses/quarters in Ijare and satellite sister community Araromi Omoladan have been enumerated.

“Please, be informed that all the materials/foods donated are being gathered at the High Chief Sapetu Ile Oye in Ijare”, the statement read.

The committee also announced that jingles have been produced and aired several times within Ijare to sensitise our people about the deadly virus.
