Hon. Dr Bode Ayorinde, also known as ‘Achiever’ has justified reasons why the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo state needs to field a candidate from the Northern senatorial district of the state to contest the October, 2020 governorship election.

Ayorinde who is an aspirant under the PDP stated this while addressing party delegates during his pre-primary election tour to the 18 local government area of the state.

The primary election of the party comes up in July, 2020.

Ayorinde at the fora urged party members to identify with Hope Alive 2020 (Aseyori 2020) project.

He reiterated the need for them to support his ticket bid in order to retain and sustain the political interest of the Northern senatorial district of the state.

“It is on record that the PDP in Ondo state has not fielded a candidate from the Northern district since the return of democracy in 1999.

“This sentiment is important to emphasize because the other districts have been patronized over the years.

“Hence, it is only right for the PDP to retain the rotational power shift which other districts have benefitted save the northern district.

“In order to ensure stability of the PDP in Ondo state, it is morally right for the party to allow the North to complete the current circle of governance which commenced with the present government.

“That is why I have stated in my manifesto that I am only going for a single term of four years.

The former federal lawmaker, who represented Owo/Ose constituency between 2015 and 2019 at the National Assembly harped on the industrialization of the state as his only purpose of eyeing the Alagbaka government house.

“I have continuously stated that my only job in government is to create jobs and arrest the minds of our youths from involving in violence.

“As stated earlier, we are going to build one industry in each local government area of the state with little interference by government.

“We are going to bring our youths out the dungeon of poverty and engage them meaningfully”, Ayorinde stated.

Similarly, at the climax of Dr Bode Ayorinde’s meeting with PDP delegates at Akure, in Akure South LGA, he urged the delegates who he has consistently referred to as Kingmakers to vote for him to achieve full industrialization of the state.

Present at the meeting were former deputy governor of the state, Omolade Oluwateru, former assembly member, Kemi Adesanya, former chairman of Akure south, Bayo Alarapon and other dignitaries.
