Governor of Ondo state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Tuesday morning clinched the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the October 10 gubernatorial election.
Akeredolu secured the highest votes in the election which held at the Dome in Akure the state capital.
Governor of Kogi and chairman of the APC primary election committee, Yahaya Bello had on Monday during the primaries announced that out of the 12 aspirants who indicated interest in the election, three stepped down for Akeredolu.

Ife Oyedele, Abraham Olusegun and Jimi Odimayo were the aspirants who stepped down.
The aspirants who partook in the election aside Akeredolu are Awodeyi Akinsehinwa, Bukola Adetula, Sola Iji, Olusola Oke, Jumoke Anifowoshe, Olayide Adelami and Kemekeme Isaacs.
3,146 delegates drawn from the 203 wards across the state participated in the primaries.
