The Ondo State Directorate of National Orientation Agency (NOA) has called on the people of the state to conduct themselves peacefully as they exercise their franchise by voting for the candidate of their choice in the local government election slated for tomorrow Saturday 22nd Aug. 2020.
In a press statement made available to the newsmen on Friday from the office of the Director Overseeing the affairs of the Agency in Akure, Mrs Wumi Famuyiwa urged the people to come out en-masse to participate in the local government polls coming up tomorrow and adhere strictly with the provisions of the covid19 protocols by wearing nose mask and maintaining social distancing in accordance with the laid down rules guiding the elections.
The NOA boss re-emphasized the importance of ensuring peaceful conduct to forestall any threat to the democracy which she described as the most important ingredient in the development of a nation.
She said Local government election is critical to the people which guarantee full participation of everybody to have a sense of belonging in the growth of the society’.
Mrs Famuyiwa also called on the various stakeholders particularly the political parties and security agents in tomorrow’s exercise to ensure that the election is violent-free, credible and fair. She disclosed that necessary security apparatus have been dispatched to the state to monitor the exercise and ensure hitch-free election.
