Akure’s most revered monarch, Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi has ordered the closure of shops ahead of crucial festivals in the ancient town.
The Precision NG reports that the palace Chief Press Secretary, Michael Adeyeye in a statement on Friday said the festivals would come up on August 24th and September 9th, urging the residents particularly traders to abide with the order.

The Palace wish to notify the residents of Akure and its environ that all Markets and Shops in Akure will be shut on Monday 24th August, 2020 and Wednesday 9th September, 2020.
2. The closure becomes necessary as part of the age long tradition in observing the annual Aheregbe and Amole Festival.
3. The Palace wish to inform residents that no trading or opening of shops under any guise will be allowed on these days.
4. Residents, Market Women and shop owners are kindly enjoined to comply with this directive.
5. However, the festival will not in anyway restrict both human and vehicular movement.
