Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun says it followed due process in the suspension of the house deputy minority leader, Tomide Akinribido.
Oleyelogun made this known during a telephone discussion with Triangle Media on Tuesday.
Oloyelogun added that the decision of the house to suspend Hon. Tomide Akinribido indefinitely was taken to safe the assembly from disrepute and disgrace.
The speaker also explained that the suspension of Hon. Akinribido was
taken in line with the laid down rules of the assembly.
He added that the unbecoming WhatsApp chats that led to the suspension of Hon. Akinribido were unbecoming of any honourable member.
Oloyelogun also added that the suspended ZLP member neither denied authorship of the chats nor showed any form of remorse while the investigation lasted.
Meanwhile, Oleyelogun has distanced himself from the threat to harass the publisher of Triangle magazine, Femi Salako.
