Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye has condemned very strongly the politically motivated killings that have taken place in Idanre town in recent time.
“Idanre is a town that is known for security, peace and peaceful coexistence amongst the people; and this culture should not be allowed to get eroded,” Adefisoye said.
Richard Adeyemi, Senior Legislative Aide to Adefisoye in a statement on Thursday noted that SDP withdrew from the recently conducted local government election in a bid to avert further political violence in Idanre.

“This was indeed a sacrifice because nothing can ever be too much to let go in the interest of peace and unity.
“It is indeed very pertinent for know that the traditional rulers, community leaders, religious leaders, political leaders as well business leaders within Idanre should sue for peace and also take decisive steps that will help to avert further violence in the town,” the statement said.
Adefisoye added that ‘do or die’ brand of politics should be discouraged in Idanre town while the sanctity of human lives should likewise be respected.
The deputy chairman house committee on Army however charged Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and the security agencies to ensure that security of lives and properties are guaranteed in Idanre; while those behind the recent killings are speedily brought to justice.
