The Medical & Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria, has congratulated Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on his recent reelection, appealing to him to immediately constitute the Governing Boards for the Ondo State Hospital Management Board (HMB) and the Ondo State Primary Health Care DeveIopment Board (PHCDB).
The Union in a congratulatory letter to the governor, explained that timely recomposition of the two boards would ensure effect policies for implementation in our Government owned Health Institutions across the State.
In the letter signed by the State Chairman, Comrade Alake Fakinlede and the Secretary, Comrade Alabi Suraju, the Medical & Health Union also sought inclusion of its representative in the Governing Board of PHCDB to correct the erroneous exclusion of their union’s member from the Act that established the Board.
The Union also advised the governor on how to manage waste in the state.
“Provision of Sanitary Dinobins at every junctions and market places in our State to stop waste littering our streets and market places; The Consultants’ Agencies responsible for waste collection and disposal have to improve on their service delivery.”
The Union said, “Governing Board for Hospital Management Board (HMB), so as to effect policies for implementation in our Government owned Health Institutions across the State.
“The Act that established UNIMEDTH needs to be amended. There is a need for Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between HMB and UNIMEDTH to foster greater relationship to enhance good staffing of UNlMEDTH.
“Constitution of Governing Board for Ondo State Primary Health Care DeveIopment Board (PHCDB) and the inclusion of representative of our great Union as a member of the Governing Board, due large|y to the erroneous exclusion of our Union from the Act that established the Board.

“Your victory at the just concluded election on 10th October, 2020, had confirmed and established the many facts that the people of Ondo State truly appreciates the good works and general infrastructural developments your government have been able to put in place, and equally believes in the continuity of good governance your administration started in the last three and half years in office.
“As a committed governor, who derive’ enjoyment in the wellbeing of workers, most especially the Health Workers in the State, we have no doubt in our mind that your second term will recorded a tremendous upliftment in the life of entire civil servants and our dear State.
“Your Excellency sir, as you are preparing for another four years of your administration, our great Union would loved to draw your attention to some areas that demands for urgent action, as they affects the professional output of Health Workers and the side effect on the entire populace of Ondo State.
