The rector of Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji, Prof Adedayo Fasakin, has urged Muslims to pray for Nigeria while felicitating with them on the occasion of this year’s Maulud Nabiyy.
In a statement by him, he said: “Let me, on behalf of the Staff and Students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, seize this auspicious moment to warmly felicitate and congratulate our Muslim Brothers and Sisters, and indeed the entire Muslim Community across the country on the occasion of the commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammed (SAW).
“This year’s commemoration should embolden us to share love in place of bitterness, peace in place of violence and brotherhood in diversity in place of hostility.
“While enjoining all and sundry to celebrate the festivity in a moderate manner in view of the current mood of the nation, I equally call on all Muslim faithful and all well-meaning Nigerians to use this occasion to pray for our dear country, Nigeria.
“Once again, I wish you well as I commit you all to Allah’s benevolence and guidance during the celebration.”
