The Ondo State Chapter of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has commiserated with the Nigeria Union of Journalists on the sudden demise of its former chairman, Mr. Dayo Fadahunsi.

Fadahunsi who broke his milk teeth in journalism in Ondo State Radio-Vision Corporation (OSRC) Akure, and later became Director of News and Current Affairs in the same station was a thorough bred and accomplished journalist .

The Ondo NIPR in a condolence message issued in Akure and signed by its Chairman and Secretary, Lamidi Ishola and Sunday Omosule, extolled the qualities of the late adviser on Labour matters to former governor Olusegun Mimiko.

“As a competent unionist, Fadahunsi distinguished himself as the NUJ Chairman, and used his wealth of experience and uncanny ability to keep industrial peace as the Chairman of NLC in Ondo State.

“Despite his taciturnity, Fadahunsi’s love for the downtrodden ones propelled him to join politics where he impacted positively on the lives of the people.

“His death is no doubt a huge loss not only to his family and the world of journalism, but also to Public Relations family where he also made his mark as a highly trained professional,” the message read.

The PR body also sympathized with the family of the deceased, NUJ family and friends, urging them to take solace in the fact that he lived an exemplary life of honour and service to his state and the country in general.
