Members of Board of Trustees, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Ondo State and former State Chairmen of the party, have passed a vote of confidence on the Fatai Adams led State Executive Committee.
Rising from a joint meeting with State Working Committee, the leaders affirmed their commitment to the leadership of the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, as the leader of the party in the South West.
The recent action of some PDP members in Ondo state is generating reactions from leaders of the party.
The party members gathered in Lagos to pass a vote of no confidence on the Fatai Adams led State Executive Committee.
This decision did not go down well with Members of Board of Trustees, and former State Chairmen of the party.
Addressing a news conference, they said it is the height of mischief to pass a vote of no confidence on a duly elected Executive Committee for no concrete reasons.
Leaders of the party led by a former deputy Governor, Omolade Oluwateru said there is no faction in the party as being speculated.
They also put their weight behind the decisions of the leaders of South West on zoning of offices for South West Zonal.
The leaders also expressed readiness to reconcile with aggrieved members of the party who worked against the party in the last govenorship election.
Oluwateru added, “Members of Board of Trustees, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Ondo State and former State Chairmen of the party, Governorship Candidate of the party at the October, 2020 Gubernatorial Election have passed a vote of confidence on the Hon. Fatai Adams led State Executive Committee.
