The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of NAAT, NASU, SSANIP and SSANU of Ondo State Owned Tertiary Institutions (ODSTI) has suspended the 14-Day warning strike embarked on Tuesday, 29th December, 2020.
Tayo Ogungbeni and Peter Akindehinde, both Chairman and Secretary, JAC, ODSTI in a statement on Monday noted that the warning strike has yielded some positive results as the state government for the first time in history released three months subventions to the State Owned Tertiary Institutions in the last two weeks.
‘Although, the State Government has not addressed our major demands which include, increments in the monthly subvention to Tertiary Institutions; implementation of the new minimum wage to our members and prompt release of subventions to the institutions.
“The State Government as at today is still owing the State Owned Tertiary Institutions over four months subventions.
We want to thank our esteemed members across the state for their support, loyalty and solidarity in enforcing the warning strike. We shall continue to fight for your welfare at all times, therefore, await further directive if the need arises.
