Ondo NUJ Harps On Humility In Christmas Message

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council has felicitated Christians on the occasion of this year’s Christmas Celebration, urging them to celebrate with utmost respect for COVID-19 precautionary protocols.

In a Christmas message signed by the Union’s Chairman, Adetona Aderoboye and the State Secretary, Leke Adegbite, Ondo NUJ urges the people especially Christian faithful to be humble and kindhearted in celebrating this yuletide in obedience with the teachings of Jesus Christ whose exemplary life and redemption continue to inspire millions of people globally. 

While wishing media professionals in the Sunshine State and beyond merry Christmas and prosperous New Year in advance, Ondo NUJ pleads with the people to obey all measures put place by government to tackle the second wave of Coronavirus pandemic especially the use of nose masks, physical distancing and avoiding crowded places.

The Statement commends journalists in the state for their steadfastness and commitment in the outgoing year towards building a virile Union and just Society through balanced, objective and factual reportage of happenings in the state despite experiencing a very difficult time in the year.

The Pen Pushers noted that the essence of Christmas which is the Birth of Jesus Christ manifests in joy, peace, love and humility, enjoining the people to desist from anything that can lead to breach of peace during this yuletide in the state.

The Union appeals to Security agencies to step up efforts in tackling incessant kidnapping and killing of travellers in Owo-Ose-Akoko axis of Ondo state and beyond where many people including a first-class Monarch had been their victims.
