Owo To Get Teaching Hospital As Achievers University Eyes College Of Medicine

The ancient town of Owo would soon be having a teaching hospital courtesy Achievers University, The Precision NG can understand.


Achievers University was established in 2007, making it the first private institution in Ondo and Ekiti states.


“The need to establish a teaching hospital became imperative as the university plans to commence the College of Medicine in two years,” Prof. Samuel Aje, Vice Chancellor of the institution said on Monday, while addressing journalists on the activities marking the institution’s 13th anniversary.


Prof. Aje added that the University will also develop a research development centre which would build the bridge between the institution and the industries.


The former DG of Nigeria French Language Village also disclosed that Achievers University would soon establish a college of Aeronautics and Aviation Technology, with an inbuilt 1.5km runway to be located at Owo.


Other projects mentioned by the VC for takeoff soon include, ICT and CBT buildings, Guest House, Sports Center, Students’ Center and Mass Communication and Media studies building with inbuilt facilities for a radio.


“May I inform you that arrangements concerning these projects have reached advanced stage,” Aje said.
