Dennis Alonge-Niyi, a chieftain of the PDP in Ondo state has resigned from the party.
The Precision NG understand that Dennis, who contested the last state congress with incumbent Chairman, Fatai Adams, resigned alongside his wife, Yeye Adenike.
The resignation letter dated Monday, May 31 and obtained by our correspondent, is with effect from today, June 1.
The letter addressed to the Chairman Ward 1, Afo, in Ose local government area, Alhaji Musa Azeez read:
“We thank you for the leadership you have provided for us in the Ward and all the support we derived from the party and her teeming members from 1998 to date.”
Alonge-Niyi was a former council chairman of Ose local government area of the state, between 2003 and 2007.
He participated at the last state congress of the party, where he lost out to Hon. Adams.
After congratulating him, Alonge-Niyi in an interview with our correspondent on the sidelines of the congress, however expressed fear that the outcome would spell doom for the party, ahead of the October 10, 2020 governorship election.
“I have accepted the election in good faith and hopes that the outcome won’t spell doom for the party,” he told The Precision NG.
