The management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo state has stated as untrue an online publication, which claimed some lecturers in the institution are selling handouts and textbooks to students.

It affirmed that such development is alien to the culture of the state-owned University.

Victor Akinpelumi, the Head, Information, Protocol & Public Relations of the institution, in a statement issued on Wednesday evening, noted that the content of the online publication is false and an act of calumny.

“The Management of the University wishes to explicitly state that the claims by the online medium is untrue, unfounded and alien to the culture of the University, and should, therefore, be disregarded by the public, especially, students, parents, guardians and members of the University Community.

“While we want to note with pride that despite the financial difficulty in the country, the Institution has not, in any way, compromised its standard, integrity and values.

“As a matter of fact, because the University does not condone any form of extortions of students whatsoever, there have been various channels made available for our the students to report any perceived extortion and infraction on their rights.

“Once again, the University is urging the general public to treat the contents of the publication as false and calumny.

“Rest assured that the University Management, without mincing words, will continue to uphold the extant rules and regulations governing the administration of the Institution,” the statement affirmed.
