The Olodeke of Ekan Ikare, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Imam Bello, has felicitated the Olukare of Ikare land, Oba. Akadiri Saliu Momoh IV and Muslim Ummah in Ondo State on the occasion of the Eid-il-Kabir celebration.

Olodeke, admonished Muslim faithful to continue to keep adhering to the teachings of love, sacrifice and perseverance, which the festival exemplifies.

In a terse statement, Abdulganiyu urged Ikare residents to eschew lure of lucre and societal decadence capable of stoking violence.

The statement partly reads, “As we are all aware that the message of this season is that of sacrifice, selflessness, and total submission to the will of God as exemplified by not just Prophet Ibrahim, the father of all Abrahamaic faiths, but also Prophet Muhammad”

“As faithful, it is not enough to offer animals in sacrifice. We are in fact required to translate these qualities to our day-to-day living”

“I therefore, call on all Omo Ikare to stay the course with us as we get down to the task of fixing our Holy Town. This definitely requires all of us to make the sacrifice. It might also require us to adopt a new paradigm and forgo momentary gains for the larger interest of our town, especially the generations yet unborn”

“I am using this same medium to appeal to residents to be peaceful in our conducts and shun all acts capable of causing rancour and disorderliness before, during and after the festival”

“May Almighty Allah grant everyone a blessed Eid Celebrations as i equally urge all of us to think safety and modesty at all time.”
