… emphasises on continuous prayer for absolute peace, security of Oyo
The Chairman of Oyo State Housing Corporation, Chief Bayo Lawal, has congratulated Muslim faithful as they mark this year’s Eid-el-kabir, calling for more prayers for peace and security of the state.
In his message, the former Commissioner for Justice said although the security situation is improving as a result of the new security architecture put in place, continuous spiritual and physical efforts must be made to sustain the peace being enjoyed in the state.
He admonished residents in the state to cooperate with the state government to tackle the menace of insecurity.
The Baamofin of Kishiland pointed out that all hands must be put on deck to isolate bad elements to make Oyo State a peaceful and stable entity.
He said: “The occasion of Eid-el-Kabir provides a great opportunity for families and friends to come together, pray, share meals and gifts. But I urge us all to engage in all of these cheerfully and in accordance with COVID-19 protocols.
“There is a need for us to isolate the bad elements in our different communities. We are happy that the government is doing its best. We must also complement that effort by praying more and doing the necessary things required of us to support the government and make this state safe than ever.”
The Housing corporation Boss stressed that with prayers and commitment on the part of government and the people, insecurity will be surmounted.
Similarly, he commended governor Makinde for the unprecedented change being witnessed in the state, and for not failing to lose focus, despite challenges and distractions from opposition elements.
Lawal stated that the governor has continued to raise the bar of governance in the four cardinal pillars, which the current administration is anchored upon.
He said: “I must also commend the governor for what he has achieved in less than three years. He has failed to lose focus and determined to the core to actualise his dreams for the people of Oyo State.
“He has constructed a lot of new roads, reconstructed old ones, attended to social services. We all saw how he distributed palliatives to the poor and vulnerable during the heat of the COVID-19 pandemic. He is also delivering quality healthcare service, prudent management of state funds, creation of thousands of jobs, mass relocation of people and businesses to Oyo State, due to the business-friendly atmosphere.”
He, however, prayed that God will not allow the machinations by the evil elements to prevail in the state.
