Ondo Orders Removal Of Beggars, Destitute From Streets

Following the directive of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu that Akure and other cities in the state be rid of street urchins, beggars and destitute, the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has swung into action.

The motive as directed by the Governor is to make the state capital and other cities decent, attractive cum crime free.

Speaking while carrying out the mandate, the Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Foluke Tunde-Daramola said removing destitute and people in that category from the street, would prevent hazardous consequences.

She added that the presence of the destitute in the state has being a source of concern to the government. Hence, the stakeholders were mandated to activate the process of removing the destitute.
