The statement reads, “I want to heartily congratulate you on the conferment of the Sun Newspapers’ Most Supportive First Lady Award 2020 on you in recognition of your outstanding contributions to Nigeria and the world. This is a well-deserved award”
“Truthfully, the Sun Board of Editors has not erred in its choice of a performing and workaholic First Lady like you. This award coming from a credible and reputable newspaper like the Sun, is indeed a great honour to you and the good people of Ondo State. This is one other award worth felicitating with you on”
“You have indeed distinguished yourself in the areas of empowering the womenfolk and advocacy aimed at stemming the rising tide of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Ondo State thereby creating a template that is worthy of emulation by other First Ladies in Nigeria”
He continued: “Through the BEMORE Summer Bootcamp you have continued to aid the empowerment of the 21st-century Nigerian girl child and womenfolk in general, with the right knowledge and skill-set to impact society positively”
“Since its inception in 2017, over 1,500 girls have been trained in Information Communication Technology (ICT), solar renewable energy, making of hygienic liquid products, art and design, tying of headgear, cake baking, make-up, taekwondo for self-defence against abusers, aerobics, music, dance, among other life-enhancing skills”
“Your Excellency, Ma, through the Forum for Wives of Ondo State Officials (FOWOSO), an idea you conceived in 2017, you have empowered over 2,000 women and young girls for economic self-reliance across the 18 Local Government Areas of Ondo State besides creating awareness on early detection of breast and cervical cancer and providing supports for its treatment through the Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN) which you founded in 1997”
“No wonder, you were nicknamed ‘Mama Digital’ because of your firelighting energizing spirit and your passion to raise female technological leaders, in order to change the archaic assumption that relegates female folks and limit them to houseshore and less-tedious tasks, without giving them opportunities to maximize their God-given potentials.”
