This year’s edition of Ijare day holds tomorrow Saturday 13th November by 9am at Anglican Grammar School playing field.
In view of this, the bad portions on the road leading to Ijare from Akure is now being rehabilitated by indigenes of the town.
Oluwatuyi Ayorinde- Eleko – Chairman Publicity and Protocol Committee confirmed the development in a post of Ijare Facebook group.
“I want to use this medium to announce that Ijare Egbe Omo Elewe Obi has commenced the rehabilitation of Ijare-Akure road on Thursday. This is part of their major contribution towards our Community. It will ease the hardship we are passing through on the road. Kudos to Ijare Egbe Omo Elewe Obi under the leadership of Asiwaju Akinsola Oluwole.”

Similarly, the executives of the Ijare National Students Union (INSU) have concluded plans to launch the official anthem for the body during the event.
The General Secretary of the Union, Comrade Emmanuel Ige told The Precision NG that the anthem would be available for download online from November 13.
The event will also feature presentation of merit/commendation awards, scholarship awards, empowerment projects and medical examinations.
Earlier in the week, the organisers and Ijare residents danced round the town while there was an education/career talk.
Also during the course of the week, there was free medical check-up/examinations and distribution of drugs while cross country race and Jumat service was observed.
The event will climax on Sunday with
thanksgiving service at Christ Apostolic Church, Ayetoro by 9am.
Ijare is a town in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria. It lies around 20 km north-northeast of the city of Akure.
The town is specifically noted for its growing and preservation of Kolanuts that earns it the appellative cognomen “Ijare Elewe Obi” That is, Ijare, the Kolanut city.
